UNGA 2018- Sweden

Assalammualaikm wbt,
Here's a story on how our UNGA came to be.

It was announced then, the members of each group. For us, it was as many as 10, 6 boys and 4 girls (I won't be listing down the names, unfortunately)
Well, since it was probably a busy month, our meetings were mostly during the times when class teachers were absent.

With bad luck, out of all the meetings we had- I participated in only 2.
It was during those times, I fell ill, sprained my ankle and went on trips/expositions. yep, bad timing 😐
and came the holidays- I was given the duty to search on culture and religion of Sweden. I searched, collected and printed it out- the complications to me was that my smartphone was of no use and I was unable to contact the group during the holidays- so there was some form of miscommunication.

I was very sensitive with the work distributed- and sort of angry because the person on duty for costume? In the end we searched for it ourselves- so it was a loss of task, and the start of a panicky, complicating day. Since the program was to take place on that Monday, all groups gathered at the main hall for the finishing touches (setting up the board, practicing the presentation etc.). I'd like to not go into detail on this day because I was pretty emotional.

So, let's talk about my costume.
As we were talking of Sweden it was decided that I would wear of the colours blue and yellow following the traditional wear.
When I searched for such colours, there was none of blue so I settled with a dark purple.
On arriving at the hostel (I went for an outing with the bus), I began my alteration.
I cut of the sleeves of the purple inner, modified it by sewing, and sewed on these daisies I made on the neck of the shirt. With the yellow fabric I bought, I sewed it onto the long purple skirt, made to look like an apron.

Here's a picture of the booth and some(?) of our members

On the day of the program, we ended up setting our booth and practiced the dance (I did not participate as my ankle still wasn't well).
When the program started, all groups began the march into the hall from outside.

Before the presentation judging began, it was started of with the dances. Here below is ours, it might not be that great but I love it :)

It was a great day, I admit, but definitely exhausting. Starting off at 8.00 am, yet our group was judged at 12.00 p.m (perks of being in the class up at the back, oh 4 Edinburgh :') )

and
so
the
day
ended.

Lots of love and wishes 💖

AISYAH BASIRAH 💜💗😅😆😀

So to you, kid, sorry for the ultimately maybe-too-late of a wish. I'd like to have shared this moment on social media or sth but unfortunately it is of this holiday that I promised myself to keep low on sharing anything there. Otherwise it would've been on the exact day.

HERE'S A PICTURE OF AISYAHHH!!

Well whatever the case,

happy 16th birthday.

May Allah shower you with His blessings, grant you with love, prosperity and a good life, here in Dunya and in the Hereafter. May Allah guide you on your path and may you live a life of Iman, InsyaAllah.

Take care sistur and don't miss me too much hee 😂😏

(this was supposed to be a lot longer but. heu)
